Why Women’s Magazines are Maddening

I may have bought one women’s magazine in the past five years or so but that is mostly due to the  convenience of social media. I grew up looking at my mother’s Glamour magazines and once was a Seventeen subscriber. I enjoyed leafing through these magazines but I don’t remember feeling good about myself after reading them. They always seemed to be script describing what I was supposed to be, never really reflective of who I was as a person.

So I felt really affirmed by this video that clearly describes why women’s magazines can be so problematic.
